Pearl qualities and grades

As there is no international standard grading system for freshwater pearls, every company sells pearls is using system that they created. A standardized grading system must be used when selling pearls.

Pearl grading systems at Yuewei Pearl.

AAA: The surface will have very high luster, virtually flawless, clean surface, round and very near round shape, excellent matching, the highest pearl.

AA: The surface will have good luster, slight blemish, at least 75% clean surface, mostly round, near round, very good matching and nice quality.

A: The surface will have fair luster, visible blemish, less than 75% clean surface, good to moderate matching.

Please be advised that not every pearl on the pearl strand will necessarily meet all the criteria.
